Chlorine / hypochlorite dosing

Demand + residual → litres/day of sodium hypochlorite.

Sodium hypochlorite 12%

Cl₂ dose
2.5 mg/L
Cl₂ required
12.5 kg/day
Available chlorine

Method

Dose = demand + residual ; V = M_Cl₂ × 1000 / (%avail × 10)

Chlorine demand must be measured for your water. Hypochlorite loses strength in storage — dose to the measured current available chlorine, not the label. Contact time (CT) is a separate design check.

Estimated use: about 3.13 m³/month of ChimiArt Sodium Hypochlorite 12% (dose 2.5 mg/L Cl₂, flow 5000 m³/day).
