Phosphate removal (FeCl₃)

Ferric chloride to precipitate phosphorus to a target.

29.4tonne/month

Ferric chloride 40%

Fe required
13.5 mg/L
Active FeCl₃
39.2 mg/L
As product
97.9 mg/L
Per day
978.75 kg
Alkalinity consumed
36.3 mg/L

Method

D_Fe = r × ΔP × 1.80 ; FeCl₃ = D_Fe × 2.90 ; product = ÷ (S/100)

Reference: Metcalf & Eddy, Wastewater Engineering (chemical P removal).

Actual Fe:P depends on target residual P and matrix (1.5–3 in practice) — confirm by jar/plant trial. Ferric addition consumes alkalinity and can depress pH — check the alkalinity tool.

Estimated use: about 29.362 tonne/month of ChimiArt Ferric Chloride 40% for P-removal (ΔP 5 mg/L, Fe:P 1.5, flow 10000 m³/day).

Want to confirm this on your actual water? We can run a free jar test or send the grade's spec sheet.
